Mechanical Packing Yarns

Mechanical-Packing-Yarn.jpgTFA mechanical packing yarns, under the brand name TORPACK™, are designed to meet the fluid sealing challenges for pumps and valves in the pulp and paper industry, chemical industry, refining industry, mining industry and waste water treatment industry. TFA offers three distinct braider ready yarns (see selection guide below) to meet a variety of sealing applications in rotating equipment and valves. The first series of yarns is based on para-aramid yarns which provide a very durable packing with good chemical resistance to meet the most demanding applications for abrasion. The next series of yarns is based on meta-aramid yarns, these yarns produce a white packing that can me made into a very forgiving packing that is difficult to over tighten and easy to install and maintain. Our final offering “ULTRA” is based on TFA’s own bleached TEFLON® brand yarn. “ULTRA” offers the broadest range of chemical resistance while providing higher shaft speeds than 100% PTFE yarns and excellent shaft run out performance.

  • TORPACK mechanical packing yarns are impregnated with DuPont Dispersion manufactured with Echelon® technology
  • TORPACK mechanical packing yarns are offered either as impregnated only, or impregnated and treated with a high temperature resistant lubricant
  • TFA manufactures all of our products with ISO 9001:2008 certification for our quality systems and ISO 14001:2004 certification for our environmental systems
